Sr. Little Mary

DIRECTOR - PROVINCIAL SUPERIOR

Our Lord Jesus Christ was in this world, He healed many people of their physical and mental diseases. He continues His work today with the help of those who are engaged in hospital ministry. By seeing the suffering Christ in the sick, we, the Franciscan Clarist Congregation sisters, are serving the afflicted with a dedicated mind and inner pleasure. And also, the sick people see Christ Jesus in the face of health providers. As we try to cure them of their bodily ailments, they also are paying attention to their mental and spiritual well-being. St. Francis Assisi, who embraced and served the lepers, the outcast of society, be our model of service.

Paduva Hospital, Puthenpeedika, and its services stand for this intention. We are doing their services with inner joy and a compassionate heart, to the least and the last in that rural area. By this, we are achieving our vision and mission. Our FCC sisters who are engaged in the healing ministry live and serve in the real spirit of lowliness of heart. They should be motivated to integrate prayer, community life, and healing ministry.

Hospital as centers of evangelization

Along with the physical healing, bruised souls and minds are also in need to be healed. Help the sick to encounter the compassionate face of God revealed in Jesus and to receive the merciful touch of the Lord. Prayer room/Adoration chapel needs to be kept open for all; facilities to receive sacraments and opportunities for spiritual guidance must be provided. Special consideration and concession are to be given to the sick who cannot afford materially.

Sisters as ministers of healing

Sisters as ministers of the healing ministry should be real friends of humanity, willing to serve with a high spirit of sacrifice, prudence, sympathy, and tenderness. They must have a compassionate heart of Jesus, who was moved by the suffering and healed them. Help the sisters through ongoing formation programs to deepen theoretical and experiential knowledge in the medical field and to bear witness to the Christian view of suffering and the meaning of life and death.

Outreach programme

By outreach programs, we extend our healthcare activities to the marginalized and downtrodden of society, such as mobile clinics, medical camps in the slums, and attending to the needs of the sick in destitute homes and colonies.

Equipping the Staff
  • We aim to inculcate a deep awareness about FCC Charism and Franciscan values in the staff members of the institution, encouraging them to be proficient in tecnico-professional competence and ethico-religious training, and holding high the values and dignity of the human person.
  • We have an efficient pastoral care unit with trained FCC counselors to inspire and instruct the patients in receiving sacraments, to pray with them, and guide them to put their trust in God. Sisters are to be diligent in offering holistic healing.
  • We have a common Christ-centered vision and mission displayed in the institutions, ensuring that all staff members are made aware of it. Facilitate a common space in a prominent place of the institution for prayer, and it is to be opened to all.
